Global Gases Group Unveils State of the Art Helium Facility

At this week’s Gasworld Helium Summit in Houston, Global Gases Group announced the opening of a new, state-of-the-art Helium transfill facility in Bintulu, East Malaysia. This facility, part of Global Gases’ growing network of 12 transfills worldwide, strengthens the company’s leadership in offshore gases throughout the Asia Pacific region. Dedicated to supplying diving gases for offshore subsea construction and IRM (Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance) activities in Sabah, Sarawak, and Brunei Darussalam, the new facility will also supply the local industry with cylinder helium.

The Bintulu facility meets ISO certifications in quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001) and adheres to National Oil Companies standards and IMCA guidelines. It provides DNV 2.7-1 certified cylinder quads, reflecting Global Gases' commitment to safety and reliability in the demanding offshore sector.

This facility complements Global Gases' existing sites in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and Perth, Australia, allowing the company to serve helium customers across Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, and Australia.

Global Gases Group has achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of its 12th gas distribution facility worldwide, Global Gases (UK), in Aberdeen. This state-of-the-art facility, dedicated to supplying diving gases to the offshore industry, is strategically positioned to serve the North Sea, Mediterranean, and Norway offshore industries. Swapnil Vichare, Director of Group Business, announced the new facility at the prestigious Gasworld Helium Summit in Houston on October 28th, 2024. Vichare noted, “This premier conference for the worldwide Helium industry serves as the perfect stage to showcase Global Gases’ latest achievement, reinforcing its position as the worldwide leader in high-quality diving gases to the offshore sector.”

Adhering to the most stringent offshore industry authority guidelines (IMCA) for periodic testing and certification of assets, the new facility further strengthens Global Gases’ leadership in the offshore diving sector, while setting new benchmarks for safety and the highest industry standards of gas analysis.
